Droplet dynamics post-impingement on a solid surface is of immense technological importance due to its applicability in self-cleaning, anti-frosting, anti-biofouling, anti-icing, thermal management, and inkjet printing. While sustained droplet oscillation desirable some applications, fast seizure oscillations after the touchdown droplets necessary for others. The complex non-linear interaction fluid properties common framework characterize short-time response provided here. We describe these post-impact patterned terms lumped simple harmonic oscillator parameters. delineate effect substrate attribute same one or more dynamical model oscillator, describing an analogy between terms. Our gives universal mapping fluid–solid parameters dynamics, making it feasible predict with accuracy behavior.
